Teal Student Pentagon on Desk

I heard about this a couple days ago, and I would have put it up right away, but this blog didn’t exist yet!

If you have a .edu email address, you’re eligible to sign up for this special. I suppose that would include all employees of schools. It really is totally free. You just give them your school address, put down where you study and what you study, then click the confirmation link in an email they’ll send you. You get a free year of 2-day shipping (on the normal Amazon goods, as usual)!

Their information site says that if you are already an Amazon Prime member, then they’ll refund you the remaining months on that account so that your year is still free. So it’s a pretty cool deal all-in-all, and it saves you $80 bucks plus lots of shipping costs.

Amazon StudentNow remember, friends, Amazon is only pushing this sweet deal to get you hooked. I also hope that at the end of the term they won’t automatically renew Prime membership, that would be kind of dick. And unfortunately, a lot of my purchases are the less than $1 books, so that I can get some great deals for mere cents and the standard shipping rate–marketplace books that generally aren’t available for Amazon’s special shipping deals.  Ah well.  Even if I use this only a handful of times over the course of the year, it will be nice.
